Overview:
Designed and animated the set for exclusive interviews with stars Alicia Vikander and Matt Damon on the Today Show, tied to the release of the new Jason Bourne movie. The goal was to create a dynamic, hacker-themed interview environment that would captivate viewers and build anticipation for the film’s release.
Challenges:
Designing for the unique monitor setup at the Today Show presented challenges, particularly with unusual layouts and lighting conditions that could wash out visuals. The task was to ensure that the animated backgrounds complemented the interviews without overpowering them or distracting the audience.
Creative Execution:
Jo Lord of Equality, was the lead designer and animator, crafting all visual elements for the interviews, including monitor backgrounds, segment openers and closers, and on-air graphics. Merging the suspenseful, tech-driven aesthetic of the Jason Bourne series with the contemporary feel of the Today Show, creating a seamless blend of cinematic intensity and broadcast professionalism. Hands-on approach extended to on-set coordination, where it was ensured that all media displayed correctly and looped seamlessly, maintaining vivid colors and contrast under the studio's challenging lighting conditions.

Impact:
The interviews were a resounding success, contributing to the movie’s impressive $415 million box office haul. The dynamic visuals received praise from Universal Pictures, leading to further collaboration on future promotions. A standout moment was receiving personal commendation from Matt Damon, affirming the project’s success in creating a visually compelling, engaging viewer experience that set a new standard for entertainment interviews.
